William Zinchuk, husband for 41 years to Margaret (Luhrsen) Zinchuk, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2013. He was born and raised in East Hartford, Connecticut, the son of the late Leonty and Mary Zinchuk; and lived in Tolland, Connecticut for 39 years. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army, graduated from Officers Candidate School and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. After six years of service to his country, he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Major in the Finance Corps. He resumed his formal education at the University of Hartford where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree in Business Administration. He was employed by the State of Connecticut for over 35 years. He served as chief fiscal officer for the State Department of Correction and retired as a senior budget analyst in the Office of Policy and Management. In addition to his wife, he leaves a sister, Olga Reduker of East Hartford; cousin, Paul Adykoski of Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Dorothy L. Paulhus and her husband John of Sun City Center, FL; his good buddy, Len Matyia of Bolton; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends may offer their condolences following a memorial service to be held at the United Congregational Church of Tolland on June 17, 2013 at 11 am. Burial will be private.
