Obituary for Elizabeth Yoo

Elizabeth ”Betsy” Yoo, 50, of Columbia, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born October 23, 1963 in Rockville, CT the daughter of Florence (Trapp) Yoo and the late Joseph Yoo. She loved school and she graduated from Rockville High and one of hershinning achievements was when she earned her gold medal for running in the Special Olympics. She belonged to Camp Horizon’s day camp where she adored spending her days with her special caregivers and friends. She had an infectious smile that would light any room and a soft spirit to brighten anyone’s day. She enjoyed life and people she enjoyed being pampered such as getting her nails painted and her hair done. Betsy also loved her cherished dog Duke. She was a special person who will be forever missed. She will be forever cherished and loved and we know that heaven will be brighter place now and every time the sun shines that will be you shining down on us. Besides her mother, Betsy also leaves behind her brother Joseph F. Yoo, of Tolland; her aunt Agnes La Flamme, of Windsor; her nieces, Cissy and Maria Patti, her special cousin Joyce Yoo, her very close family friend Judy Ethridge, as well her special friend Jerry who she shared time with going on outings. She is also survived by many cousins and many, many friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for calling hours on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Small and Pietras Funeral Home 65 Elm Street Rockville from 4-6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 6, 2014 at 11 AM in St. Bernard’s Church, Rockville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her name to Camp Horizons 127 Babcock Hill RdSouth Windham CT 06266
