Walter Krechko, son of the late Clement and Katherine (Karwatzki) Krechko, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015. He was born April 5,1926 and was a lifelong resident of Tolland. He was an electrical contractor for over 40 years and retired from Hartford Freezer. Walter was a World War II veteran serving in the 41st Infantry Division stationed in the South Pacific Philippines. He loved snow skiing and built a 600 ft rope tow on the Krechko farm where many children learned to ski. He also enjoyed spending time at his famlies summer cottage in Massachusetts. He is survived by his sons; Barry Krechko, Ross Krechko and his wife Nancy; his grandchildren, Jacob, Bryan, Jenna, David, Alysa, Nick, Tyler and Courtney; his brother George Krechko; his sister, Elizabeth Leblond and his son in law Thomas Coleman. He was predeceased in 2013 by his wife of 59 years Bertha (Kamay), his daughter Linda, his brothers Henry, Alex, Clemy and his sister Ann Gozdz. Calling hours will be held at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow rd, Tolland on Friday, October 30, 2015 beginning at 10:00am. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am.
