Obituary for Richard M. Phillips

Richard “Dick” Phillips, 73, husband of Morene (Wice) Phillips passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Richard was born in Hartford, to the late Bernice (Hopowicz) and Michael Phillips, and spent most of his life residing in Ellington, where he worked at Roy auto parts as a salesman in the Rockville area for many years before retiring. He is survived by his loving wife, Morene of 54 years, his children Richene Ference and husband Alan of Willington, Raelene DeRobertis and her husband Gary of Coventry, and Robert of Ellington, two grandsons Joshua and Sean Ference, and his sister Julia Vincek of Hobe Sound, FL. He was predeceased by his two brothers Edward of Rockville, and John of Tolland. Richard treasured the many years of camping at the shore with his family. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling to Atlantic City and was an avid UCONN women’s basketball fan and never missed a game. The family will hold a private memorial service.
