Erma Campbell, 94, of Tolland, CT and formerly of Laconia, NH, peacefully passed away Wednesday July 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Pittsburg, NH, she was a long time resident of Laconia, NH. She was married to the late Herve Mitchell and late William Campbell. She was predeceased by her only child Joyce Mitchell Babb. She is survived by her son in law Frank Babb of Tolland Ct, formerly Rochester, NH; her two Grandchildren Robert Babb and Linda Tetreault, and her husband Ray, and 4 greatgrandchildren Kaitlyn, Kelly, Kristen and Raymond Tetreault, all of Connecticut. She is also survived by Lonnie, Roxanne and Marcie from her family with Bill Campbell in New Hampshire. Erma was a family oriented woman. She raised two families and was a care giver to her older and younger generations, she cared for them all. She did all this and worked full time. She worked at the Laconia needle factory then went on to be a school bus driver until the age of 82. Outside of her work and home responsibilities she enjoyed traveling to visit family and the sites of the White Mountains and Lakes region. She loved watching NASCAR on TV and would travel to watch her nephew race. Anyone who spent time in her home fondly remembers the amazing aromas coming from her kitchen. She loved to entertain family and friends. Not everyone may know, but Erma was also a singer. She would volunteer with her second husband Bill, and their very close friends Mel and Pauline to play music and sing for the residents at the local skilled nursing facilities. She was old fashioned in that you could always rely on a hand written card or letter from her whether it was your birthday or she was just keeping in touch. She will be fondly remembered for her caring demeanor and most of all her strength. Her spirit will live on in her family and the memories of all those lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to pay last respects on Saturday July 30, 2016 at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home on 375 Merrow Road in Tolland from 5pm to 7pm. There will also be calling hours on Monday August 1, 2016 at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia, NH from 10am-12pm with the Burial Service to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
