Antonio L. Pita, 71, of Broad Brook, beloved husband of Antonia (Carrasquillo) Pita passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 22, 1945 in Portugal, the son of the late Hilario DeMatos and Maria Jose (Lagoncha) Pita. He worked and retired from Rockbestos Company after 34 years. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and water, fishing, clamming, gardening and he loved animals. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Evelyn Bevilacqua of Enfield and Yolanda LeMasurier and her husband Jay of South Glastonbury; his grandsons, Anthony and Nicholas Bevilacqua; his granddaughters, Emily and Audrey LeMasurier; his great-granddaughter, Gianna Bevilacqua; and his three nephews that were like sons, Peter Marrero, Frank and Edwin Montalvo. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT 06088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Church, 6 Windsorville Rd., Broad Brook, CT 06016.
