Obituary for Frederick Wasilausky, Jr.
Frederick “Rick” Wasilausky Jr., 63, of Coventry, CT, died peacefully on June 8, 2017 at Hartford Hospital from an unexpected illness. He was born April 28, 1954, he grew up in Bloomfield, CT and graduated from Northwest Catholic High. He was the eldest child of the late Frederick Sr. and Julie Wasilausky. He completed a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Hartford. He was a Professional Engineer and Inspector at Connecticut Natural Gas for almost 30 years after owning his own businesses; Road Track n Trail motorcycle shop and his own Nationwide Insurance agency. Rick always loved motors, whether rebuilding them or making them faster, he had a natural ability to find every last bit of performance. He spent his early days racing motorcycles and snowmobiles, later racing cars with his son Michael, to his most recent love of riding his Honda Goldwing all around CT/RI visiting friends and to the beach all summer. Rick loved being outdoors. He enjoyed skiing, spent many days on the water boating throughout his life, and endless walks on the beach. Rick is survived by and will be dearly missed by his Mother Julie (Pastula) Wasilausky, his sister Wendy Borawski and her husband Frank, his sister Judy Maulucci, son Mike and his wife Monica of Niantic, CT, and daughter Valerie McGrath and her husband Brian of Norwood, MA. He will be missed even more by his grandchildren Olivia, Kiera, Emma and Niall whom he cherished over the last couple years of his life. Relatives and friends may join the family from 4-6pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike (Rt. 44), Coventry, CT 06238. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave, Bloomfield, CT 06002, burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
