Obituary for William N. "Bill" Hurley

William Norman Hurley, 76, of Coventry, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Bouffard) Hurley passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 22, 1941 in Hartford, the son of the late William and Bertha (LaLiberte) Hurley. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Church, Coventry and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He took great pleasure in being a Stargazer as a member of the Astronomical Society of Greater Hartford, and enjoyed building his own telescopes. He was passionate about astronomy, NASA, reading, NASCAR, cars, and camping with his family. He worked for the state of CT Department of Social Services for 35 years and Pelletier Builders for 12 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Elle Hurley of Manchester, Katherine Hurley-Dizigan and her husband Matthew of Coventry, and Mary Hurley of West Suffield; his beloved grandchildren, Joyanne and Sean Dizigan of Coventry; and his two sisters, Maureen Smith and her husband Thomas of West Hartford, and Candace Wiese of Avon. He was predeceased by his sister, Beth Morin of Rocklin, CA. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpke., Coventry, CT 06238. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at St. Mary Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Coventry.
