Obituary for Patrick Rossow

"May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright happy hours that stay with you all day long."
Patrick Robert Rossow, age 42, was born on June 11, 1975 and died on October 10, 2017. He was a kind and gentle soul with love in his heart coupled with a touch of Irish stubbornness and humor that made him a truly special young man. Patrick was loved by many and will be sadly missed. He spoke often of his 'good buddies', and had many stories of past times with all of his friends. He treasured his nieces and nephews as though they were his own children. Patrick grew up and lived most of his adult life in Ellington, Connecticut. He spent the last year in Tolland, Connecticut, close to his father. Patrick graduated from Ellington High School in 1994. He is survived by his father Carl J. Rossow, his siblings Rie, Charlie, Robert and wife Stacey, Susan and husband David Janton, Roy, Jose Luis, Michael and fiance Shannon, Aaron, Christa Lee and Elizabeth Wheeler. Patrick is also survived by his dear friends Doris Marshall, Jim and Marie Singer, Lorrie Lescher and Congressman John Larson. Patrick was preceded in death by his mother Rachel Wheeler-Rossow, and siblings Christopher, Simone, Maria, Benjamin, David, Eddy, Ellen, Mary and Dina. Patrick cherished his role as Godfather to his niece, Lauren Therese Janton. Patrick loved the Dallas Cowboys football team, particularly his signed autographs from famous quarterback Roger Staubach. With his parents, Patrick enjoyed many adventures including memorable trips to his grandparents in Missouri and Mississippi. Patrick was an honorary member of the Ellington Ambulance Corp. and had great respect for all the men and women of the United States in uniform. Patrick also loved his favorite music, Bon Jovi, and his blessed Irish heritage. A funeral mass will be celebrated in Patrick's honor on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 AM at the Carmelite Monestery in Barrington, Rhode Island, 25 Watson Ave, Barrington, RI 02806. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Patrick to Ellington Rescue Post 512, P.O. Box 71 Ellington, CT 06029. For online condolences please visit www.pietrasfuneralhome.com.
