Rose Marie Cersosimo Raia, 83, of Tolland, beloved wife for 63 years of Francis Raia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at her home with her husband by her side. She was born on December 1, 1933 in Hartford, CT and lived in Tolland for 56 years.
Rose Marie will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother. She had a great passion for horses, sports including the New York Yankees and the UCONN Women’s Basketball.
She leaves three sons, Francis Raia, II of Fort Edwards, NY; Glenn J. Raia and Jodi Evans of Fort Edwards, NY; Rosario Raia and his wife Joanne of Tolland; nine grandchildren, Heather R. Sowle and her husband Robert; Crystal M. Raia; Corinne E. Roy-Raia; Anthony R. Raia and his fiancé Stephanie Pritchard; Matthew J. Raia; Jennifer E. Raia; Mitchell P. Roy-Raia; Kyle A. Eaton and Abigail Roy-Raia; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Rickson; Peyton Raia and Ava Raia.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Matthews Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT. The burial will be private.
