Robert L Day Sr., 82, husband of the late Betty-Jane Day, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born on January 20, 1935 in Veazie, Maine where he was born and raised and later relocated to Coventry, CT where he raised his family with his beloved wife. Robert devoted 35 years as a SNET employee and served in the United States National Guard. Robert's family and friends will miss the most amazing, sweet, witty, stubborn yet so loved man. For those who were fortunate enough to cross his path, knew his Maine Life at Ebeemee Lake (aka "Days Rest"). Along with his many hobbies, he loved hunting, fishing, boating, ATV riding, watching the Patriots & the Red Sox and shopping & returning. He mostly loved being with his family, friends, Snooky his dog and relaxing with Mr. BUD & Baileys. Robert leaves behind his sister, Mary Geiser, his children, Susan Igoe and her partner David Gokey, Sandra Day, Robert Day Jr. and his wife Lisa, Sheryl Stevenson and her husband Richard Sr., his seven (7) grandchildren, Darrell Lyford Jr. and his wife Quincy, Daniel Lyford, Heather Nordmark and her husband David, Jennifer Malon, Richard Stevenson Jr. and his wife Rae-ann, Amanda Day, Sarah Hill; and fourteen (14) Great Grandchildren. Friends and family are welcome to join the family from 4pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 19th 2017 at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpke., Coventry.
