Obituary for Jeanne M. Lemek

Jeanne Larcheveque Lemek of Tolland, passed away on January 7, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Hartford, CT on March 16, 1929 to Rosario and Blanche (Lord) Larcheveque. She graduated from Manchester High School and was married to Chester Lemek in 1949. Moving to Tolland and living there since, she raised her six children in a home she planned and designed. She was active in many organizations including holding an office in the PTA, the St. Matthews Woman's Guild, Tolland Cooperative Kindergarten, the Mother's club, and was active in the senior center. She also organized the cold lunch program for Hicks Middle School when renovations were being made. She graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a masters degree in Psychology. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, decorating, and dancing. She is survived by her sister Carol and her husband Paul Blow, and her brother Ron Larcheveque and his wife Louise. Jeanne leaves behind her loving partner of many years Mike Moutafus. She was predeceased by her son Leslie Lemek. She also leaves behind her children Larry Lemek, Linda Gallagher, Lisa Lemek Lissabet, Lance Lemek and his wife Suzanne, Lloyd Lemek and his partner Mark Myruski. She also leaves behind her much loved grandchildren Karla Archambeault, Missy and her husband Nick Jamieson, Shelly and her husband Chris Rozea, Meghan Gallagher, Erin Gallagher, Dustin Lemek and his wife Jaime, Danielle Trubia and her fiance Brian Palmer, Corbin Lissabet, Alexis Lissabet, Hannah Lemek, and Emily Lemek. She also leaves behind Mike's daughter Debbie Magliocco and her husband Corrado as well as Mike's grandchildren Gino and Jessica and husband Joe. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren that she adored; Charlotte, Teddy, Victoria, Samantha, Jaydn, Landon, and Liam and her very loved nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Matthew's Church, Tolland with burial to follow at Valley View Cemetery, Tolland.
