Obituary for Christine F. Kane

Christine F. Kane
Christine (Rissling) Kane, 70, passed away on January 24th, 2018 at Hartford Hospital, her husband and son by her side. Born in Boston, MA, Christine grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. She was the youngest daughter of Robert Rissling and Dora (Frances) Zambarano. After attending the University of Connecticut and obtaining a degree in physical therapy, Christine moved to Coventry, Connecticut with her husband Michael to raise their only son Gregory. Christine loved her career working throughout Connecticut with children in physical therapy with EASTCONN. She often kept in touch with the many children and families whose lives she touched, well into her retirement. Christine loved skiing, gardening, traveling, walking around the small towns of Vermont and especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, the joy she gave those around her, and her abundant loving energy that is even evident today. We wish to thank Dr. Firshein, his staff, and the Wethersfield Infusion Center for their kindness and support. We would also like to thank Mass General’s, Dr. Raje, Jill Burk, and the Yawkey teams on the 7th and 8th floors. Christine is survived by her husband Michael of Coventry, her son Gregory, daughter in-law Sarah, and grandsons Gavin and Grayson of Manchester, CT; and her sister Mary Lou of Florida. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 between 4pm-6pm with a 6pm Funeral Home Service at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry, CT. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1pm for a Funeral Home Service at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT. Burial will follow at Saint Charles Cemetery in Westminster, VT. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's. For online condolences please visit www.pietrasfuneralhome.com.
