Condolence: Dr. Vernesoni was one of my favorite professors at CCSU in the early 90's. I loved his fantastic stories from serving in the Coast Guard while teaching the Leadership Skills for Supervisors course. He was a fine man and I am sorry for the family's loss.

Condolence: I was surprised and sorry to hear of Peter's passing in today's paper. I fondly recall Peter (and Bill) from CCSU. We were is some Industrial Arts courses together. I live in Willington now and had no idea Peter lived in Tolland. He always had a Coast Guard story to tell--he was very personable. My condolences to you all.

Condolence: Peter was a great friend and mentor. I will miss those long conversations about anything and everything, his leadership in Search and Rescue for lost and missing persons. Rest in Peace Peter until we meet again.

Condolence: Peter Vernesoni, president of Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue (CCSAR), was first introduced to bring his group into our Manchester CERT organization along with a proposal. Would we be interested in being a CCSAR navigator and communicator on a CCSAR search team? This would free up one dog handler per team. Pete said he would provide us with the necessary navigation training. The positive response was, when can we start the training? Peter not only provided that training but went on to provide us a course in basic SAR Ground Search Management. We are all better CERT members because of Pete’s commitment and dedication.

Condolence: Sad news indeed but good to know it was a peaceful passing. Dr. Vernesoni was one of my favorite teachers as he had a firm approach to teaching but was engaged and committed showing that he cared as well. I will always have fond memories of the wisdom he shared during the short time I spent as a student in his class. Blessing to all his family and friends may you take comfort in knowing that he has planted many seeds that continue to grow and blossom.
