Obituary for Edward Elmer Phillips

Edward Elmer Phillips, 85, of East Windsor, beloved husband of Verna (Chamberlin) Phillips passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born February 11, 1933 in Bristol, the son of the late Charles Elmer and Mary Rose (Tetrault) Phillips. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a volunteer for Bradley Air Museum for 10 years. Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his children, Ruth Chamberlain of Middletown, Steven Phillips and his wife Donna of East Windsor, Julie Ann Zbikowski and her husband John of NC, and Andrew Phillips of East Windsor; his grandchildren, Rebecca LeVasseur and her husband David, Ashley Phillips, Michael Phillips, Nicole Vanatta and her husband Craig, and Joshua Zbikowski; his great granddaughters, Mia Phillips and Layna Vanatta. He was predeceased by his sister, Anita Beaudoin. Special thanks to the staff at Suffield House for their care of Edward during his stay there. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT 06088. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Philip’s Church, 150 S. Main St., East Windsor. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Broad Brook.
