Obituary for Anthony M. "Tony" Socha

Anthony (Tony) M. Socha, 80, Of Stafford Springs, CT and loving husband to Rose (Applebee) Socha passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was born on January 5, 1938 in Rockville, CT to the late Gonfea and Joseph Socha. After high school he became a Marine to proudly serve his Country. He was a lifetime softball member and ended his love of the game playing with the Vernon Senior Softball League. He was an ASA Umpire for many years. He was an avid card player and never went anywhere without bringing them. He was also a former member of the Shenipsit Striders for many years. Besides his wife Rose, he is survived by his son Art Sargent and his wife Patricia, daughter, Tina and her husband Frank Fruciano, son William Sargent and his wife Pamela, grandchildren, Melissa and Megan Sargent; and many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to his nephew Stanley Socha, for being there through this difficult time. Besides his parents, He was predeceased by his son Robert Sargent, Brothers, Michael and Stanley and his sister Janet Acelin. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 between 4pm-7pm at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 10am at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Vernon, CT (Please meet at Church).
