Obituary for Evelyn Jackie Culjak

Evelyn, Jacqueline “Jackie” Culjak (LaPointe), Queen of our Hearts, 80, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, November 8, 2018. Born January 20, 1938 in Lewiston, ME to the late Ernest LaPointe and Marieange Provencher.

She moved to Connecticut at an early age and spent most of her life in Vernon where she grew up, married and raised a family who always remained the center of her life. Prior to retirement, Jackie was employed by Hamilton Sunstrand for 30 years where she was known and loved by all who came across her. She was a woman of utmost integrity and was respected by all.

Jackie enjoyed genealogy and extensively researched her family tree. She also had a passion for traveling and has been all over the world, including Hawaii, all over Europe, and Singapore, where she spent months at a time visiting her grandchildren Chelsea, Sydney, and Madison. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she showered with endless love. Grandparents are special, but she was extra special.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Quint and her husband Steven Quint and their children Chelsea, Sydney, and Madison, Monica Cromwell and her children Michael Cromwell and Jackie Cromwell, Marie Culjak, Stephen Culjak and his children Stephanie Bushong and Stephen Culjak Jr., and Andrew Culjak and his wife Julie Culjak, by her sisters Therese Bloniarz and Martha Bourke, and by her great grandchildren Bryanna Cromwell and Charlotte Bushong as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066 from 5-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, 33 West St., Rockville. Burial will be private.
