Obituary for Mildred Hirth Weber

Mildred Hirth Weber, 101, of Rockville, beloved mother of Judith Weber McKernan, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2018.

Millie was a wonderfully loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Russell John Weber, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Frank McKernan; her four grandchildren, Kimberly McKernan, Heather McKernan and her partner, Annie Card, Christopher McKernan and his wife, Emily, and Jillian McKernan-Walley and her husband, Gleason; her six great-grandchildren, Maggie McKernan, Grady Mellin, Patrick McKernan, Emma Kroll, Lindsey McKernan, and Colleen McKernan; her sister, Hazel Hirth Miffitt; and numerous nephews and nieces, including Sandra Hirth Parker and Margaret Hirth Colody, who spent many Thanksgiving holidays with her.

Gram Millie was an avid card player, as well as a wonderful baker, knitter, and seamstress. She loved spending time with friends and family in Rockville, and in New York and Maine, and loved to travel with family when given the opportunity. She adored her neighbors, Donald and Mary Brand and their children, whom she thought of as family.

Millie was a lifelong member of the Union Congregational Church, and made numerous friends through her years of involvement with the Rockville Senior Center. Millie was blessed with a long, happy life and often said she had done all she had set out to do. She is greatly missed by her family and friends, but they are comforted knowing she is already enjoying a new hand of cards.

Millie was always thankful when someone did something special for her. She would be pleased if you made someone's day a little brighter with a kind word or deed or a donation to the Vernon/Rockville Senior Center, 135 Bolton Rd, Vernon, CT 06066.

A private graveside service is scheduled.
