Obituary for Marie Julia Fish

Marie (Reichle) Fish, 95, of Broad Brook, beloved wife of the late Randall Brown Fish, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Reichle. Marie was employed by the Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company until her retirement in 1983. Growing up, she worked on her father’s tobacco farm. She loved to drive the 1929 Model A Ford that her father converted to one of the first of its kind “Tobacco Riggin” for $15. Marie graduated from Ellsworth Memorial High School class of 1941 in South Windsor where she was very active in sports and the community. She was recognized for her contributions to the school and community by receiving the DAR Good Citizenship her senior year. Marie was an avid sports enthusiast all through her life. She played basketball for several teams including the New Britain Pros and Windsor Locks Flyerettes with highlights of her career included playing games in Madison Square Garden and the Boston Garden. Marie also enjoyed skiing in Vermont and Colorado and playing golf with all her friends at Ellington Ridge Country Club where she was a member for many years. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister and lifelong friend Regina Blozie. Some of her happiest times were spent at her sisters’ cottage at Pleasure Beach in Waterford with family and friends. Marie was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Brewer and her husband James, her brother Joseph Reichle, and sister in law Marjorie Garry. Marie leaves her children Denise (Fish) Feodorov and her husband Michael, her son Randall Fish and his wife Judy, her two loving grandchildren, Heather and Kelly Feodorov. In addition she also leaves her sister in law June Reichle; a large extended family and many friends. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marie’s life Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12 p.m at the Nutmeg Restaurant, 297 S Main St, East Windsor, CT 06088. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
