Irene A. (Deptula) Connors, 80, of Ellington, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010. She was recently predeceased by her loving husband, Leroy J. Connors. Irene was born November 14, 1929 in Rockville, the daughter of the late Louis and Hattie (Ciechowski) Deptula. She is survived by her children, Mark and his wife, Diane Connors of Marlborough, Gregory Connors and Sharon Hildebrand of Tolland, Lisa Connors of East Hartford, Sharon Marinan and her husband, James of West Hartford, and Patrick Connors of Ellington. She leaves her grandchildren, Sarah, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Joseph, Sophia, Jonathan and Suzanna Connors, Lindsay Bicknell and Jesse Hildebrand, Desiree Connors Mead, James and Marissa Marinan; and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters, Mary Ann and Christy Ann; her sister, RoseMary Deptula; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Corrigan. Irene enjoyed music, gardening, dancing, cooking and most of all, the company of her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish, Rockville and a member of the Saint Mary Society. She was employed by the Hartford Insurance Company and Pratt & Whitney. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville. The Burke-Fortin Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
