Anthony (Tony) Yacono, 87, of Manchester, CT passed away Friday (May 20, 2011) evening at Saint Francis Hospital. He was born September 14, 1923 in New Haven, son of the late Salvatore and Carmella (Sanfratella) Yacono. In November 1944 he married Mary Kavanaugh. She predeceased him on October 13, 1992. Tony retired from Hartford Electric Light Company/Northeast Utilities and later worked for many years at Carter Chevrolet. He is survived by his son David Yacono and his wife Ellen of Colchester, his daughter Sherri Yacono of Barre, VT, three brothers, Manny Yacono of West Haven, Frank Yacono and his wife Maryanne of West Haven, and Charles Yacono and his wife Mary of Hamden, a sister Josie Carboni and her husband Sam of East Haven, a companion Ellen Goyette of Manchester, a grandson Kenneth Yacono and his wife Karen of Stafford, and three great granddaughters, Brittany, Angela, and Kaylee Yacono. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Yacono and a grandson Michael Yacono. Relatives and friends are welcomed on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT 06066 from 10am-12pm with a funeral service to follow at 12pm.
