Charles D. Ward, 90, of Ellington, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at home with his son and Linda at his side. He was born January 22, 1922 in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Roy Booth and Emma (Walker) Ward. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was the founder of the Contromatics in Rockville, Process Equipment, Lance Valve and Ward Valve. He was an avid Yankee fan. He enjoyed jazz, musical history, animals and traveling. He is survived by his son, Erin Ward and his wife, Karla of Tolland; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Alex Ward and his best friend and companion of 43 years, Linda Sika. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St. Rockville, CT 06066. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at St. Matthew’s Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland CT 06084. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
