Mary C . (Cheney) Scott, 91, of Coventry, beloved wife of 58 years to the late William A. Scott, Sr. passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, October 15, 2019. She was born January 22, 1928 in Jamaica, Vermont daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie (Wilbur) Cheney. She is survived by her children William Scott, Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Ashford, CT; Steven Scott and his partner Rebecca Chalifoux of Mansfield, CT; and Wendy (Scott) Amash of Hillsdale, NY; Her 5 grandchildren Staci Scott, Paul Amash, Jr., Steven Amash, Christina Amash, and Christopher Scott; Her 4 great grandchildren Anaiya and Khendryck Taft; and Lucy and Charlie Amash. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband William, her brother Wilbur Cheney and her sister Julia (Cheney) Eddy. Mary was a communicant of the 1st Congregational Church of Coventy for more than 50 years. She graduated from Burdette Business College in Boston. Mary worked several years at Windham Hospital doing secretarial work. She was a volunteer at Booth and Dimmock Library for over 20 years. She was a member of the Senior Citizen 's Club in Coventry where she was also a member of the Senior Citizen's Bowling League. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Burial will be held private at the convenience of the family.
