Obituary for Leslie F. Flanders

Leslie Frederick Flanders, 72, died November 25th, 2019 after a long battle withlung cancer and heart disease. His funeral service will be beld on Monday, December 2nd. Visiting hours will be between 4 and 6PM with services held directly afterwards. Mr. Flanders was born on 20th July, 1947 in Lee Mass to Elizabeth and Reginald (Fred) Flanders. He was a brilliant engineer who paved the way for many technologies we use today. He married Colleen Flanders, his soul mate, on Friday, December 13th 1975. Mr. Flanders also worked as a host family and a volunteer mentor for over a dozen foregin exchange students from around the world. Family was the most important thing in Les' life, and if he knew you, ran into you or just met you on the street, you were his family. He shared all of himselfwith everyone he knew, and loved everyone fiercely. He loved to paint the lighthouses of the vineyard. He enjoyed fishing with friends and family. He is survived by six children: Jane Elizabeth Flanders, Anne-Marie (Koelsch) Perkins, Chet William Koelsch, Levi Raymond Flanders, Suzzanne Marie (Flanders) Russell and Jodi Lee (Flanders) Fore, by 15 grandchildren: Jason, Caleb, Hannah, Sam, Chris, Paul, Seth, Zach, Breanna, Sean, Alyssa, Bryce, Trevor, Devon, and Mackenzie, 3 great-grandchildren: Brayden, Noah and Jaxson (with Oliver on the way), his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Flanders, and his brothers and sisters: Ted, Sandy, Kathy, Reggie and Beth. He was preceeded in death by his father Fred and his brother Robbie.In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Les' name to the Make a Wish foundation. One of his greatest joys in life was to make a child's wish come true however he could. Please honor him by helping someone else in need.
