News of your death saddens me so much. Over the years I have thought of you. so tender, so genuine, a great person to be around. upbeat cheerful helpful you did a great job raising your girls. you gave so much back to the community. you are missed, i loved you and am thankful for so many things dinners, trips to the condo in new hampshire, church groups, softball games, watching mr young play ball with my dad you hanging out with my mom being in your beautifully kept home in tolland thank you so much for the time you spent with me, with all of us.

Dear Rick, I was very saddened to hear of Nancy's passing. John Zullo sent me the obituary and Maggie Tabshay called. I wasn't aware of Nancy's cancer and was very shocked to learn she had suffered so long. I have so many good and happy memories of the times we were together, the picnics, all the weddings we attended and were part of, the crazy parties we had and just hanging around together. Ahh, the good old days! Nancy was a wonderful lady and a great teacher, great Mom and I'm sure she loved being a Grandma too! May she rest in peace and watch over her beloved family. God Bless

While I did not work directly with Nancy, I knew her to be an incredibly respected and dedicated teacher who loved her students as if they were her own children. She was truly a family person also, speaking so proudly of each member when we last met. Her service to and positive effect on others will long remain. Rick, Jennifer and Amy: We are deeply sadden to hear about Nancy's passing. There was an unanswered email from her of December 20th that I deeply regret not getting to with the holidays. You have our deepest sympathy and our prayers. She was a person who touched alot of lives with her teaching. With-our family it was two generations, my sister Jennifer Blachard had her in Wapping, and our son Jack at PV. I was just thinking of her the other day,I wanted to let her know that as a teacher she inspired alot of kids to a great start. She inspired Jack to a life long love of reading and to be a great student. I know my sister would say the same thing. To the Family of Mrs. Young: We are saddened for the loss of Mrs. Young. She was an exceptional teacher at Pleasant Valley School in South Windsor, CT. She helped my son to read in first grade and was so understanding since Julian had a learning disablity. We will never forget her. Julian is doing fantastic in 8th grade and I attributed this to Mrs. Young's early intervention and dedication to all her students.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Nancy as a co-worker at Pleasant Valley School during the years, I was there until my retirement in 1998. I always enjoyed "talking shop" with her because she was always so professional and up to date on primary education which was so meaningful to me with my being a 5th grade teacher.
