Stanley R.Copithorne, 78, of Tolland, beloved husband of 57 years to Marty (Holsinger) Copithorne, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 10, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 8, 1933 in Boston, MA to the late Stanley and Rosemond Irma (Bull) Copithorne. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his cherished daughter Brenda Copithorne-Johnson and her husband David of Tolland; his sister Joanne Foy; his niece Robin Roy; his nephew Clint Keith; three step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Stan was a devoted husband and an adoring father. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the Red Sox. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at G. Fox & Co for four years and also worked as an electrician at Pratt and Whitney for 25 years prior to his retirement. He was always willing to lend a helping hand but slow to ask favors of anyone. Stan was a wonderful man and will be truly missed. All services will be private per Stan’s wishes.
