Edward C. Suchecki, 83, of Ellington, beloved husband of the late Ann (Hughes) Suchecki, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Touchpoints at Chestnut in East Windsor, due to a short illness with melanoma. He was born September 2, 1929 in Rockville, son of the late Adam and Helen (Pianka) Suchecki. Edward was a Corporal in the U.S. Marines. He went to the Pollywog School and Howell Cheney Tech; he was employed at Burr Nursery, Clydes, and the Town of Ellington. He was married for 50 years to Ann. He enjoyed sitting in front of his garage on Main St., bowling, classic cars, stock car racing, NASCAR, auctions, flea markets, antiquing, golf, painting and sketching, his friends and his beautiful grandchildren from Virginia. He was predeceased by his daughter Pamela Ann Suchecki Sanders and his sister Lottie Fuller. He is survived by his grandchildren Eric and his wife Suzanne, Jeffrey, and Kelly Marie Sanders and his great grandchildren Aedan, Regan, Tiernan, and Shane Sanders. He is also survived by his siblings Dorothy Wadsworth and her husband W. Bradford, Irene Mantlik, Richard Suchecki, Shirley Moriarty, and his in-laws Albie and Barbara Matyia and Edward Fuller, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Albie and Barbara and their wonderful family, Alec, Anna, Charlie, Cindi, Dan, Jason, JoAnn, Joe, Jule, Megan, Paul, and Sandy. Relatives and friends may join the family on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 5-7pm at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT 06066. The service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10am at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon.
