Marie H. (Wurtz) Brandenstein, 93, of Storrs, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 5, 1922 in Mineola, NY, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Stevens) Wurtz. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Karen and Richard Hendel of Coventry and Linda and Ted Johnson of Loveland, CO, 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, John E. Brandenstein of 44 years, she was predeceased by her brother, George Wurtz and her sister, Dorothy Ulchar. She was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church for over 64 years. She was a member of the Red Hats Society for more than 10 years. She enjoyed her summers with her family at her cottage on the lake.
