Louis A. Zwingelstein, 83, of Tolland, beloved husband of 56 years to Beverly (Lutz) Zwingelstein, passed away, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Woodlake at Tolland. He was born December 11, 1926 in Ellington to the late Louis and Elsie (Miller) Zwingelstein. Louis in his spare time enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He graduated from Rockville High School class of 1944. He was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army and a veteran of WWII. Besides his wife Beverly, he is survived by his daughter, Jean Schneider and her husband Byron of Tolland; his brother, Alfred Zwingelstein and his wife Barbara of Stafford; his granddaughter, Jennifer Szymanski and her husband John of Torrington; and his great grandson, Evan Szymanski. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm Street, Rockville. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Rockville.
