Mary (Cavanaugh) C. Zukauskas, 72, of Vernon, beloved wife of William F. Zukauskas, passed away peacefully Thursday May 14, 2009 at Woodlake at Tolland. She was born on September 9, 1936 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna (Kelly) Cavanaugh. Besides her husband of 50 years she is survived by her beloved children William J. Zukauskas of Middletown, Timothy Zukauskas and Maureen M. Zukauskas, both of Vernon, a sister Anne Linskey, two brothers and sister-in-laws Michael and Kay Cavanaugh and Neil and Karen Cavanaugh, all of Waterbury, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Patricia Zukauskas, of Charleston, South Carolina, three grandchildren William M., Joseph, and Nicholas Zukauskas, all of Southington, several nieces and nephews, Tara Linskey, Michael Cavanaugh, Drew Cavanaugh, all of Waterbury, Brian Cavanaugh, of Prospect, Marianne Kalush, of Colleyville, Texas, Kevin Cavanaugh, of Snoqualmie, Washington, and several cousins and grandnieces and nephews. Mary was a gentle, kind, and caring person, who shared through her actions, her faith and trust in God. She so loved her family and friends and the simple things in life. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff at Woodlake at Tolland and the hospice staff from Visiting Nurse and Health Services of CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 18, 2009 at the Church of Saint Matthew in Tolland for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville. Relatives and friends may call at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd (RT 195), Tolland on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.
